When you decided to buy or sell a house, you want to do it with someone who actually cares about the outcome. In recent years we haven't looked so much to a home for investment, but for shelter and a great place to come home to at the end of our day. Since March 1, 1995 when I became a Realtor® I have tried to watch out for the best interests of my clients, not myself.
What I mean by that, is that there were times I didn't sell someone a house, because it wasn't in their best interests. It meant that I would forego getting paid rather than put someone in a house that wasn't right for them. I listen to my clients. Most of them know what they want, but sometimes have a hard time describing it. By asking lots of questions and determining what is right for them, I have assisted over 1,000 clients to buy or sell their homes in that time.
Real estate is a local situation! Don't believe what you hear on the Today show and believe that information applies everywhere. Just like we can't all have the same weather, like 70 degrees and sunny in every city in the United States, real estate markets are different. Sometimes different neighborhoods fair differently in the same town. As a former real estate appraiser, I know how to research and interpret data to provide insight to my clients.
